Transfer your Apprenticeship Levy
Let us help you reinvest your unspent Apprenticeship Levy into the creative industry.

What’s it all about?
If you’re paying the Apprenticeship Levy, you can see your unspent levy running back to the taxman each month. Why not transfer some of your unspent levy to another employer?
DiVA can help you do this, and are actively looking for levy partners who want to reinvest their unspent levy into developing the workforce of the creative industries and support our ambition to provide access to the industry for those from underrepresented groups.
Why should we bother?
Reinvesting the money into your sector or the wider creative industries demonstrates your organisations commitment to supporting diversity and skills development. Plus, it’s a good thing to do, is great PR and can be linked to your Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy. You’re loosing your unspent levy anyway so why not take control over where some of it goes?
How will we know which companies we’re funding?
DiVA specialises in apprenticeships in the creative industries including TV, Film, Music, PR. You will be made aware of the name of the organisation, apprentice and apprenticeship programme. You can choose to restrict your levy transfers to companies within your sector or opt to support any creative company.
How is the funding transferred?
Like your business, the receiving company will also have an apprenticeship service digital account. Funding will transfer from your account to theirs every month for the duration of the apprenticeship programme.
What can my levy transfers pay for?
Transferred funds can be used to cover apprenticeship training and assessment costs for apprenticeship standards. The receiving company will cover salary costs.
What if we decide it’s not working for us?
To minimise disruption for the students, you would need to honour existing transfers. All other transfers would cease.
What if we use different providers? Can you manage transfers for them as well?
Sure, and at no cost to you. Our ambition is to create a “virtual fund” matching levy-paying companies to recipients. In this instance, DiVA will charge the recipient a small brokerage fee of 1.5% of the amount transferred to cover our admin costs. Where we are providing the training, we will waive this fee.
Is it complicated?
No. We hate bureaucracy as much as you. Transfers are made directly from your levy account to that of the receiving employer. DiVA is the recipient of a levy transfer, and the process was straightforward. We will work with the non-levy employer to make sure they do what they need to do in a timely fashion. We can also provide administration support to levy transferring companies. The government have produced some helpful videos. Click here to view.
Ok. I’m interested. What next?
